Charities
Whilst as motor cyclists on the best touring bike in the world we try to enjoy ourselves as much as we can we do make some of our time available to others. A large chunk of our annual schedule is taken up supporting our charities.
For 2009 that is the Ty Hafan Childrens’ Hospice (Charity No. 1047912) at Sully in the Vale of Glamorgan. Over recent years we have raised and donated thousands of pounds towards the tremendous work at the hospice. Their slogan “the family hospice for young lives” makes you appreciate precisely how lucky we are and stirs us into regular action, because we care so can they. Also this year we have started to give some support for a charity overseas called “Care for Uganda” (Charity No. 1099797) founded in 2001; it places particular emphasis on working with children and young people and part of its work is a child sponsoring programme. Its slogan “hand ups not hand outs” chrysalises its thinking of giving people in the Sub Saharan Africa a chance to help themselves.
